In 1786 Thomas Silverthorn & his family moved from New Jersey to what was formerly known as Etobicoke (now Toronto) & resided on the land which now is home to The Master

  • The Silverthorn’s, through generations, operated a sawmill and gristmill

  • Mill Road was aptly named in reflection of the milling industry

  • In 1870, waterflow depleted to the point where the mills could no longer operate

  • Silverthorn Collegiate High school, across the street from The Masters, bears the family name

  • Famed, award-winning architect Anthony Ferracuti directed the architectural design
